The Gift Within The Garden

The Gift Within The Garden

The garden is lush at this time of summer. That is, until it was shredded by a hail storm the other night. Sitting quietly and attentively, I feel the garden's energy is low after the hail storm.

Still, there is a rhythm and energy within the plants as they adjust and start to regenerate. The garden is resilient.

What is it like for us when we are faced with our dark night of the soul?

I can feel my energy rise and fall as I face circumstances and conditions. I realize it is not those events characterizing my mood but my reaction to them.

The ebb and flow of the seasons are apparent at my advanced age. Am I as resilient as the garden?

The extraordinary difference between me and the garden is that I have a choice as to how I use the gift given to me.

I feed my heart and soul with nutrients of love, caring, and self-awareness.
