What If You Can’t Get Out?

How would you feel and react if you were accused of a crime you knew you did not commit? You are taken into custody and left in a cold jail cell waiting for the authorities to tell you the next step.

I'm sure you would feel physically and emotionally anxious.

Your inner voice would talk to you non-stop as it evaluated your options.

Viktor Frankl, who wrote Man's Search For Meaning, gave us a clue as to what we can do in any situation we feel trapped, held hostage, or challenged.

"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."― Viktor E. Frankl,

Have you ever put yourself in a situation where you are literally in a cell of your own making?

I struggled in a high-pressure job for several years, not seeing or believing I had any options to let it go. I was not being held against my will, but anxiety, fear, and negative attitude kept me a prisoner. My self-confidence was destroyed, I lost faith in my judgement, and most significantly, I lost connection to the part of me that is intuitive and connected to the universal energy field. I paid a steep price for staying where I did not belong for a long time.

I have coached people in relationships that are harmful, narcissistic, sometimes abusive, and debilitating mentally who felt trapped and powerless and could not find the means to leave. They were keeping themselves in a jail without knowing there was a way out.

How many people do you know who are in jobs about which they constantly complain?

Why do we put ourselves in situations that negatively affect us mentally, physically, and emotionally?

I know why I did it

It was vital for me to be recognized. My sense of self-importance overrode any apparent red flags. I feared what would become of me if I left the job I thought was so important to me.

The healing has taken a long time. The important discovery is that who I am can never be defined by anything external to me. Now, my mission is to be a healing presence in my life. I hope I can be that for you if we find ourselves sitting down to together.

Life is an inside journey from a place of not knowing to a place of confident, self-aware expression.

When you get here, you can design and activate your impossible dream because your dreams become natural to you again.

You have the confidence to take a step into the unknown and depend on the universe to support you.

The number one skill you need is self-awareness of how you feel.

Don't wait for someone to rescue you because no one is coming. Take your life back.

Namaste
