The Garden Has No Judgement

What does a garden need to flourish?

The ingredients include good soil, water, sunshine and personal tending to the weeds that try to take space needed by the beautiful flowers.

The garden does not judge what is given to it. The plants will show their brilliance in colour and shape if the conditions are ripe for abundance.

If the garden has no water, sunshine, or proper tending, the plants will wither and die in response to the conditions.

The garden does not judge, and it simply responds to the environment.

We, humans, are much the same, except we have the superpower of choice the garden does not have.

Our challenge is our power of choice gets hard to activate when life's conditions are challenging.

We think we don't have the power we thought we did.

The day I was fired from what I thought was my dream job was a time when I did not feel my power. I had put away my power of choice to choose my response and my vision. My internal system chose powerlessness.

There was nothing I could do about the decision handed to me. What I had forgotten was my power to choose my future.

When we face tough life situations, and I'm sure we all have to some extent, it is the moment to remember our essence, our roots, and our connection to our healing presence.

There is no question that we can put our superpower away at times of negativity and sorrow, and that does not mean it is not available to us.

"We blink a thousand times a day. A thousand times a day, the world goes dark. A thousand times a day, we wake. Yet so much depends on which you see as home—being open or closed." Mark Nepo from The Book of Awakening
