It’s A Mad Hatters World

It's A Mad Hatters World

How quickly my life has expanded into a lifetime.

One day I was born with a new possibility with all the world's potential.

The next day a lifetime has passed, and there is more time behind me than ahead of me. As the old saying goes, where did the time go?

A colleague of mine recently passed away at the age of eighty-seven. He had lived a good life as far as I know.

I have lived some 28,105 days so far.

If I live as long as my friend, I will have 3,650 days left to go.

The question arises: what life will I live with the time I have left?

The world as I know it does not make sense anymore.

The rules I was taught, the habits I formed, and the learned desire to fit in and be what was expected of me don't hold the energy and importance they once had.

I feel like Alice in Wonderland, who went down a rabbit hole into a new and unknown world.

She met some weird characters, like the rabbit dressed in a waistcoat with a large watch on a chain.

In an unknown world foreign to her, with characters and behaviours that were crazy, she faced every challenge with energy. For example, she did not back down when she met a caterpillar smoking a hookah while sitting on a magic mushroom.

Alice was "uncomfortable in her body, and her sense of self destabilized, leaving her uncertain of her identity; she butts heads with authority and tries to understand seemingly arbitrary rules."

I know how she must have felt. One conclusion I have come to is that Alice was in a state of curiosity and wonder. Every encounter she had stimulated her creativity and energy.

In this place of what I feel is my crazy world, I am in a state of wonder as to what is possible.

Even though I don't know the rules anymore, if there are any, I have the energy, awareness, and stamina to live in this new world.

My curiosity, energy, and creativity are awake for this part of my journey.
